The holiday cottage is ideally situated in Haute-Marne, earth of history since the period Roman gallo. Langres was indeed the capital of the people of Lignons. In the Middle Ages, Langres was the seat of an important diocese which extended over 3 provinces Champagne, Bourgogne and Franche-Comté. Under Charlemagne, some of these bishops were Missi Dominici.
Several streams as the Marne, the Aube and the Meuse take their source in the sector. By 1900 it was thus decided to build 4 lakes artificial intended to feed the canal of the Marne in the Saône. The water and the forest thus hold it an important place and in particular in the South of the department. It infers a fauna and a flora varied by quality, which gives big possibilities of activities nature.
To be perched on a promontoir Rivières le Bois (Riviéra ) dominates Resaigne her and of vast abounding in game forests. This rural village belonged to the XIIIth century at the house of chatel Sorting. The wars of the XVth century caused the ruin of inhabitants' little which survived and the Lord had to free them by a charter of June 10th, 1488 under condition which they pay for every fire and a year three grounds four payable deniers in two steps the day of carnival and the day of Saint Rémy. In 1515 Pierre Chabut already Lord partly of Coublanc, bought earth and seigneurerie of Rivières le Bois. They stayed during a century in ownership of this family which alienated him in 1615. His church of the XIVth century, dedicated to our Lady of the Christmas shelters a chapel registered on the additional inventory of the historic monuments of November 21st, 1925. His choir of Gothic style contains an oculus and a swimming pool sculptured.
"Lé'table", which is in 25, rue de la Perrière, is one of rare houses of the village without mitoyennté. She arises from an old farm restored recently to be classified 4 star by Gites of France.

The cottage is near Culmont Chalindrey railway station and Langres South exit on A31 motorway.
Lovely small roads all around, permit to enjoy safely long rides and biking walks in small valleys countryside.
